I take my work here at Exclusive Eats very seriously and feel compelled to give my readers my REAL opinions on local Atlanta restaurants. I'm not here to sugar coat anything and make a restaurant look good simply because they are a well-respected restaurant in the community. My job is to recommend restaurants that supply QUALITY food, QUALITY service and a QUALITY atmosphere. Quality service is what you will NOT find at Ray's In The City. After my dining experience here I have concluded that the restaurant’s staff pre-judges their customers based on appearance. I refuse to tell Exclusive Eats readers to dine at a restaurant where there is potential for them to be disrespected with long waits, poor seating, and unprofessional servers. The only reason I am giving Ray's In The City 2 out of 5 stars is because the food was decent and the interior of the restaurant provided a plush ambiance. However, the fact that my party was forced to wait over an hour for a table only to be seated in the back of the restaurant at TWO separate tables! Yes, my party of 6 was split into a party of 2 and 4 because the restaurant couldn't “find” space to seat us together after we waited 1 hour for a table. The ironic part of this is that shortly after we were seated a party of 8 was seated right behind us. Typically I do not come down on restaurants for long wait times (I was once a hostess and know that seating for large parties can be tricky) but I am also smart enough to notice when a party of 8 professionally dressed gentlemen are clearly treated differently than a family of 6 looking to have a casual dinner. I personally will NEVER return to Ray's In The City because I only support restaurants that treat each of their customers with equal respect.
